Alyx Gorman had her first piece of writing published on the internet in 1994, at the age of six; it was a poem about dolphins. She has been putting words on the web consistently since then, which she supposes makes her a 'digital native'. She has occasionally lapsed into print at Oyster Magazine, The Sydney Morning Herald, Fallen, Self-Titled and others. She has the dubious honour of being the only person ever to win the University of Sydney's John Kenneth Galbraith Prize for Economics, and a Beauty Directory 'Star Award' for Best Beauty Blog. The latter prize, a career highlight, was for writing about her colon.
