Kanye West won’t be too stoked with some of the trashy headlines stirred up by The Rubens lads, after lead singer Sam Margin told UK entertainment media that the bloke has become a walking joke.
The comments made the chop in some of the tabloids after the group did a round of interviews to promote the release of ‘Hoops’ in the UK on May 20.
The Aussie rocker told syndication service BANG Showbiz that it’s a shame that people can’t take the ‘All Day’ rapper’s music “seriously” anymore and that story has now been published across at least 10 ‘gossip’ publications online and several printed magazines. Speaking all kinds of truths, Margin said Yeezy’s personality provokes a love/hate response that’s become “hard” for fans to “digest”. Sam basically just said what we’re all thinking, saying to the papers:
“I’m not really a fan of [‘The Life of Pablo’]. I think his personality is making it harder for people to digest his music. I think he’s hilarious. I don’t think people take him seriously any more, which is a shame.
He was very good, but he has become a bit of a joke now.”
Considering how far this story has been syndicated and reported on, we’ll be keeping a close eye on reactions from fans and the big man himself,

The Rubens were heavily influenced by hip hop on their forthcoming LP ‘Hoops’ and beat the likes of Kendrick Lamar and The Weeknd to take out the number one gong on the 2015 Triple J Hottest 100 countdown.
When asked if the group – which includes Sam’s brothers Zaac Margin and Elliott Margin, Scott Baldwin and William Zeglis – would love to get a hip hop star to remix one of their songs, Sam replied: “We’d love to team up with some hip hop artists, who could do a remix of the song. But we just haven’t found the right person.” – Undoubtably, that person IS NOT Kanye:
