It’s going to be so SOOOO GOOD. Firstly because Monk is fucking hilariously self-aware and is as clever as they come. Secondly, just think of the poor blokes that will have to compete for her affections and how little fucks she’ll give for their precious feelings. It’s gonna be chaos and TV gold.
But not all of the reactions have been of the positive persuasion. Some people are just legit confused. A C-grade celeb as Australia’s next bachy? It’s a surprise, that’s for sure.
However, the most hilarious responses have been callbacks to Monk’s days in girl group Bardot. Cast your mind back 17 years (yep, oh man we’re old) when the world convinced itself that the millennium bug would spell our own doom. It was then that a girl group stepped onto the Aussie scene… and changed the face of music forever.
Okay maybe not, but Australia’s answer to the Spice Girls did release one hell of an anthem. The original fuckboi warning, and no.1 hit ‘Poison‘ is one of the all-time greats (also ‘ASAP’ is still an A+ banger).
Since the news broke yesterday, the people are Twitter have been celebrating the return of the Bardot alum to the spotlight.
Ya'll are going to make me download POISON by Bardot with all these "Sophie Monk: A Retrospective" pieces now, aren't you? #BacheloretteAU

Sophie Monk is the Bachelorette which is fine because Bardot was great but 1) Is this a sick joke? 2) Where is Nikki?

Until we meet bachy Sophie as the new season rolls out, shall we crank this Aussie anthem all day long?!
