‘Married at First Sight’ is now nearing its eventual end – seriously, how long has that show been on for?! But one thing we can all agree on, is that the bulk of the juicy plot points have involved one dude: Andrew a.k.a Jonesy.
From clashing with Cheryl, Cheryl’s dad, and then the majority of the double x chromosome havers of Australia (after making yucko sexist comments), the fireman has dominated the reality dating show.
But if we go back to where it all began, it’s important to remember that Jonesy was initially married to MAFS match Lauren. At the time there was an air of mystery over what went down, and why Lauren chose to ditch her new hubby.
However, some new info has broken today that has shed light on what happened that fateful night between the pair, that led to Lauren’s departure. This morn on KIISFM, during a Jackie O news segment, the host revealed that a source close to Lauren had revealed details about the night in question.
Take a seat, and get ready for all the tea to be spilt.
Far from being a ‘jilted groom’, as the two newlyweds went out for drinks at a club at Bondi Beach, apparently there was a volatile incident with a bouncer. The source spilled that:
“They were going all good but then they went to a club and when the bouncer said ‘Sorry mate you can’t come in’ because it was past one o’clock A.M, Andrew apparently lost his s*** and that is when she turned around and took off,” the source said.
“She was like ‘I’m not going to marry this guy who is losing his s*** over something like that’. It must have been bad for her to just run off because apparently Andrew didn’t let up, he got s***** and starting going off at the bouncer.”
This is news to us, as all viewers were shown was a confused Jonesy waking up alone. It is assumed that the entire ordeal was not mentioned in the episode because it didn’t align with the ‘runaway bride’ narrative the producers were intending to flog to death.
“They didn’t put it in to keep the story going, because if they had it would have been like ‘Well that’s why she ran off’,” the source said.
This is of course still unconfirmed. But if true, we gotcha, Jonesy. GOTCHA.
