Taylor Swift has claimed the top spot on Forbes’ Celebrity 100 list of the world’s highest-paid celebrities for 2016. Over the last year T-Swizzle has earned a total of $170 million. The singer’s 1989 World Tour and endorsements for Diet Coke, Apple, and Keds helped her reach the number one spot.
The One Direction boys are second on the list after earning a total of $110 million, last year. American author James Patterson claimed the number three spot with a total of $95 million. While Dr. Phil and soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo both earned a total of $88 million in the last year putting them as the fourth and fifth highest paid celebrities of 2016.
The top ten also features actor/comedian Kevin Hart at number six and Lionel Messi at number eight. Adele joins Swifty as the only two females to make the top ten on the list in ninth place.
A range of celebrities including Lebron James at #11, Madonna at #12, Ellen DeGeneres and Rihanna both at #13 made the top 20 alongside The Rock [Dwayne Johnson] and magician David Copperfield who finished #19 and #20.
Swift’s ex beau Calvin Harris landed at #21 on the list earning $63 million. if #Tayvin were still together they would’ve been the highest earning celeb couple for two years in a row, however that title now belongs to Beyonce and Jay Z who finished #34 and #36 earning a total of $107.5 million together.
Kim Kardashian (who features on the magazine’s cover), came in at Number 42 on the list with $67 million. Kimmy K claims that 40% of her earnings came from her mobile game – cause she’s an entrepreneur above all else, right?
Rounding out the top 100 tied as the 99th highest earning celebrities on the list are Supermodel Gisele Bundchen and Vegas regular Britney Spears after earning $30.5 million each in the past year.
Among the missing from this year’s list are Lady Gaga and Justin Timberlake who claimed the 25th and 19th spots on last year’s list.
Sadly, as expected there’s only 15 women on the list, down from 16 last year as the gender pay gap remains all too prevalent in the entertainment industry.
